A Less Invasive, More Convenient Option

What are Thread Lifts?

A PDO thread lift treatment involves inserting a very thin thread into the skin in areas of the face and body where sagging is prevalent. The thread is then guided into place and pulled tight, lifting the skin and providing an ongoing source of collagen production that brings firmness back to the skin that is lost with age. PDO threads are the perfect minimally-invasive alternative to a surgical facelift.

No Surgery, No Problem

What are the benefits of PDO Threads?

PDO threads are a safer and less invasive alternative to surgery for lifting sagging skin. Since the placement of threads is customizable, your aesthetic specialist can strategically lift and position your skin for beautifully sculpted results. This treatment also stimulates collagen production in the skin, meaning that the benefits continue even after the threads have dissolved. PDO threads are FDA-approved.

Tighten and Revitalize Your Skin

Am I a good candidate for Thread Lifts?

PDO thread lifts are perfect for adults who want a minimally-invasive, non-surgical solution to sagging skin. The lower face is the most common area for this procedure, but PDO threads are safe for any area of the body that may be experiencing drooping skin, such as the arms, legs, buttocks, or even the stomach. Get in touch with your primary care doctor or one of our licensed medical aesthetic providers before receiving thread lifts if you are pregnant or have underlying medical conditions.

Your skin will thank you

Your PDO Thread Lift Procedure

After your skin is cleaned off, a topical numbing agent will be applied to the spots where a cannula will be inserted. Once numb, small marks will be made with a temporary marker to guide thread placement. The cannula will then be inserted into the skin and used to administer the thread. Your licensed medical aesthetic provider will gently maneuver the PDO threads into its proper position before gently removing the cannula. As the cannula is removed, the thread is tightened to lift the sagging skin using fine, cone-shaped anchors.

No More Drooping

Thread Lift Recovery

For up to three days after treatment, our Londonderry PDO threads patients may experience some tenderness or light swelling. During the first three to seven days after your treatment, you will need to avoid direct sunlight, strenuous activities, or any activity that causes sweating. You should also avoid unnecessary facial movements and touching or applying makeup to the treatment area. You will need to stick to soft food or a liquid diet during this phase of your recovery. Dr. Lawson or one of her licensed medical aesthetic providers will answer any questions you may have about the treatment during your consultation.

Thread Lift Results

Your thread lift results will include noticeably tighter and more lifted skin immediately, with full results showing up about two weeks after treatment. Your threads should last anywhere from six to twelve months. As time goes on and the threads settle into place, your body will boost its natural collagen levels to restore firmness back to the skin as well. This process is the body’s natural response of “healing” the foreign object in the skin. This natural response from the body allows for up to six more months of lifted, supple skin even after the PDO threads have dissolved.

PDO ThreadsFrequently Asked Questions

You will receive a topical anesthetic before treatment to numb the area where the cannula will be inserted. With this numbing agent in use, your PDO threads procedure will be nearly painless. You may feel some tugging or pulling during your treatment but it is generally a comfortable procedure.

There are very few risks associated with thread lifts. Some light bruising, swelling, or irritation may occur during the first two to three days post-procedure. Rarer risks include the risk of infection or the possibility of the thread being visible through the skin.

Thread lifts are cosmetic procedures, so they are not covered by insurance.
