Laser Hair Removal Q & A

What is laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal uses the power of laser energy to disrupt the follicles where unwanted hairs grow. Other hair-removal methods may shave off the ends of hairs or pull them out by the roots, but only laser hair removal disrupts the follicle so the hair can’t come back.

What types of hair can laser hair removal treat?

The Xeo is powerful enough to treat coarse hair and gentle enough to remove fine, and even some light-colored hair. Inbloom Health + Medispa can permanently remove unwanted hair from your:

  • Upper lip
  • Beard
  • Sideburns
  • Eyebrows
  • Underarms and arms
  • Back
  • Legs
  • Bikini area

The Xeo is even gentle enough to remove hairs from highly sensitive areas, such as your nipples.

How does laser hair removal work?

The Xeo targets the pigment in the shaft of your unwanted hair. The laser energy goes straight to the hair, leaving the surrounding skin untouched. As the laser evaporates the hair root, it also disrupts the integrity of the follicle.

Within two weeks of your Xeo laser hair removal treatment, the hairs fall out. Because the laser changes the structure of the follicle, it can’t grow another hair as a replacement.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

The Xeo glides smoothly over your skin and includes a cooling element that keeps you comfortable without anesthetic. When the laser zaps the hair shaft, you may feel a mild stinging or pinching sensation.

Can I remove all of my unwanted hair with laser hair removal?

Your hair grows in three phases; lasers damage hairs that are in their early, active growth phase. Because your hairs grow at different rates, you may need a series of 3-6 treatments to treat all of your unwanted hairs.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

The follicles that were altered by your treatment may never grow hair again. However, you may need maintenance treatments every year or so to be sure that all of your unwanted hairs receive treatment.

What happens after laser hair removal?

Your skin is slightly pink and swollen for a few days. You shouldn’t tweeze or wax your hair between treatments, but you may shave. Your Inbloom Health + Medispa professional may recommend a special skin-care regimen that’s formulated for your skin type.
